B.T.B. Lactose HiVegâ„¢ Agar, Modified (Lactose Blue HiVegâ„¢ Agar) is recommended for diffrentiation of lactose fermenting and non fermenting bacteria belonging to Enterobacteriaceae. Recommended addition of 0.28gms/L of metachrome yellow to suppress swarming of Proteus species. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
