Bromo Cresol Purple Broth w/ Lactose, Granulated is recommended for identification of Escherichia coli and coliform bacteria from water samples. This medium is used for enrichment and determining the titre of coliforms in the bacteriological analysis of drinking water. This medum has Lactose which upon fermentation by coliforms produce acid and changes colour of the medium to yellow due to the presence of pH indicator bromo cresol purple.
