Enriched Thioglycollate HiVegâ„¢ Broth is recommended for isolation, cultivation and identification of a wide variety of obligate anaerobic bacteria.This medium is often used for susceptibility testing of anaerobes by broth disk elution method. It is the modification of original Brewers formulation. Addition of Dextrose, ferric pyrophosphate and vitaminK1 enables vigorous growth of fungi .It is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
