This medium is recommended for cultivation of a wide variety of microorganisms. Can be used to prepare the inocula for antimicrobial susceptibility testing and is a preferred medium for anaerobic bacteria, yeasts and mould, With the addition of defibrinated sheep blood, it is useful for isolation and cultivation of fastdious organisms such as Histoplasma capsulatum and other fungi.
