Iron Sulphite Agar Modified 500G

Iron Sulphite Agar Modified is recommended for the enumeration of sulfite-reducing bacteria growing under anaerobic conditions. The composition and performance criteria of this medium are as per the specifications laid downin ISO 15213:2003. Most Clostridia possess sulphite reductase in their cytoplasm but they are unable to expel them to the exterior. So when H2S is produced from sulphite, the colony becomes dark due to the formation of precipitates of iron sulphide from citrate
