Lactobacillus Selection HiVegâ„¢ Broth Base 500G

Lactobacillus Selection HiVegâ„¢ Broth Base is recommended for the selective isolation, cultivation and enumeration of Lactobacilli from food. Hiveg medium is developed by Rogosa et al. It was demonstrated to be more suitable for growth of lactobacilli than Tomato Juice Medium traditionally used to isolate lactobacilli and can be further enriched by addition of tomato juice. Since these media are highly selective, they should not be used for maintenance of lactobacilli. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
