M-Enterococcus HiVegâ„¢ Agar Base is recommended for isolation and enumeration of Enterococci in water, sewage, food and other materials by membrane filtration technique as well as direct plating of specimens. Hiveg media is highly selective and used for the detection of faecal Streptococcus and Enterococcus groups using the membrane filtration technique, also used for the enumeration of Enterococci by the membrane filter technique. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
