Modified Bile Esculin Azide Agar 500G

Modified Bile Esculin Azide Agar recommended for selective isolation and enumeration of group D Streptococci. This medium is used for the isolation and identification of group D streptococci based on esculin hydrolysis and bile tolerance. Enterococci hydrolyze esculin to esculetin and dextrose, which reacts with ferric citrate producing brownish black precipitate in this media.
