Modified Rappaport Vassiliadis HiVegâ„¢ Medium is recommended for selective enrichment of Salmonellae from food and environmental and clinical specimens. The test specimen is to be first added to Buffered Peptone Water for pre-enrichment followed by is inoculation into Modified Rappaport Vassiliadis Medium and and further subculturing on Brilliant Green Agar. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
