MRS Agar, Modified (Lactobacilli Heteroferm Screen Agar) is recommended for the isolation and cultivation of Lactobacillus species from salad dressings. This medium is the modification of MRS medium by DeMan et al and is recommended by APHA. The samples are first inoculated in MRS Broth, Modified. The presumptive positive tubes are then confirmed by streaking on this media.
