SF HiVegâ„¢ Broth (Streptococcus faecalis) HiVegâ„¢ Broth is a selective medium used for detection and differentiation of Enterococci from other cocci in diagnostic work. Dextrose is the fermentable carbohydrate. Bromo cresol purple is the pH indicator.Turbidity and a yellow colour of the medium indicatepositive reaction, while no change in the colour of the medium indicates negative reaction. Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus faecium gives positive reaction. SF HiVegâ„¢ Broth is prepared by using vegetable peptones in place of animal based peptones which make the media free of BSE/TSE risks.
