SIM HiCynthâ„¢ Medium is used to differentiate enteric bacilli particularly Salmonella and Shigella on the basis of sulphide production, indole formation and motility. SIM HiCynthâ„¢ Medium enables determination of three characteristics by which enteric bacteria can be differentiated. Iron Substrate and sodium thiosulphate are the indicators of H2S production. SIM HiCynthâ„¢ Medium is prepared by completely replacing animal or vegetable peptones with chemically defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE risks associated with animal peptones.
