Trichomonas Agar Base is used for detection and isolation of Trichomonas vaginalis and Candida albicans from clinical specimens. Liver digest provide the nitrogenous substances. Dextrose acts as the energy source. Chloramphenicol and penicillin nhibits to gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria other than Trichomonas species. Sodium chloride maintains the osmotic equilibrium of the medium.
