Bile Salts, Certified is refined product obtained by precipitating the bile salts with hydrochloric acid and separated from bile pigments and other substances in crude bile. It allows growth of bile tolerant enteric microorganisms at a concentration of 0.25-0.5%, used in media like MacConkey Agar/Broth, SS Agar, VRBA, Fluid Tetrathionate Medium, etc.
