Burkholderia Cepacia HiCynthâ„¢ Agar Base 500G

Burkholderia Cepacia HiCynthâ„¢ Agar Base is used for isolation of Burkholderia cepacia from the respiratory secretions of patients with cystic fibrosis and other non-clinical specimens. The medium is selective for B. cepacia due to bile salts, crystal violet and antibiotics such as Polymyxin B and Gentamicin. Burkholderia cepacia can be identified as sage green coloured colonies with bright pink coloured medium. This medium is prepared by replacing animal and vegetable peptones with chemically defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE risks associated with animal peptones.
