Mayer’s Mucicarmine Stain 100ML

Most Mucins contain several glycoproteins and can therefore be detected by stains for carbohydrates. Best carmine stain is specifically used for glycogens. Mucicarmine is an empirical stain. It is used to detect epithelial mucins and mucins secreting adendocarcinomonas. It is also used to demonstrate capsule of Cryptococcus neoformans and other fungi. When applied for fungal staining, it stains the spores and hyphae as pale to bright red.
