Modified Rappaport Vassiliadis Medium is recommended for the isolation of Salmonella species from food and environmental specimens. The composition and performance criteria are in accordance with ISO 6579:2002 & ISO 6579-1:2017. The test specimen is to be first added to Buffered Peptone Water for pre-enrichment followed by is inoculation into Modified Rappaport Vassiliadis Medium and and further subculturing on Brilliant Green Agar.
