Peptone Sorbitol HiVegâ„¢ Broth 500G

Peptone Sorbitol HiVegâ„¢ Broth is recommended for the identification of Yersinia enterocolitica from dairy products. Sorbitol is a polyhydric alcohol (reduced product of glucose) and an important substrate in biochemical characterization tests for Yersinia. The pH of the medium is slightly alkaline as Yersinia species are tolerant to dilute alkali. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
