Salmonella HiVegâ„¢ Agar, ONOZ 500G

Salmonella HiVegâ„¢ Agar, ONOZ is recommended for selective isolation and identification of Salmonellae from clinical specimens. Bile salts mixture, brilliant green and sodium citrate inhibit gram-positive organisms. Sodium thiosulphate and ferric citrate enable the detection of hydrogen sulphide production indicated by colonies with black centers. Lactose and sucrose fermenting members of Enterobacteriaceae are partially inhibited, and their colonies can be differentiated by means of the colour produced in the presence of the indicators -neutral red and aniline blue. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
