Soyabean HiVegâ„¢ Medium w/o Dextrose (Tryptone Soya HiVegâ„¢ Broth w/o Dextrose) is recommended for cultivation of anaerobic microorganisms when the presence of carbohydrate is not desired. It is used as a base for preparation of more complex media for the cultivation of organisms like Neisseria, pathogenic Streptococci etc. With the addition of carbohydrates it can be also used for the fermentation studies of fastidious and non-fastidious organisms. This medium is used for the cultivation of wide variety of microorganisms when the presence of carbohydrate is undesirable. Tryptone Soya HiVegâ„¢ Broth w/o Dextrose is prepared by using vegetable peptones in place of animal based peptones which make the media free of BSE/TSE risks.
