Tryptone Glucose Extract Agar, Granulated (Tryptone Glucose Yeast Extract Agar, Granulated) 500G

This medium was originally developed by Bowers and Huckers. It is a standard medium used for the bacteriological plate count of milk and dairy products. It can be used for the study of thermophilic bacteria in milk, influence of incubation temperature etc. Medium must be quickly poured into Petri dishes if milk sample is to be tested, because the milk may get flocculated if the medium remains hot for longer period of time.
